About Us
Welcome to the String Area at the University of Louisville!
For over 75 years, the University of Louisville School of Music has been a national and international hub for world-class music.Featuring prominent faculty and ambitious students, the school has built a world-wide reputation for student success across a variety of disciplines.
Graduates of the School of Music are found in major symphony orchestras across the United States and are on faculty at educational institutions including conservatories, universities, and K-12 schools. Today, the String Area at the School of Music is one of the nation’s most vibrant.Innovative curriculum and degree paths and an ongoing pursuit of excellence in performance give students the tools they need to succeed in a 21st-century career in music.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available at every level of study.
Graduate Teaching Assistantships and Service Awards are available and based on a competitive application process. Assistantships include full tuition remission,health care benefits, and stipends for weekly work between 10 and 20 hours. Service awards provide tuition assistance for work assignments within the School of Music.
