Get to know our Music Therapy staff

Andrew Chapman, MT-BC is a 2021 graduate of the UofL Music Therapy program, a board-certified music therapist, and the coordinator for the music therapy clinic. He became board-certified in early 2022 after completing his internship at the UofL MT clinic. During his internship and shortly after, he led a community-based and process-oriented songwriting group, worked with individuals in foster care to create and perform songs of their own, and presented on these experiences (plus guitar pedals and MIDI) at SER and NER conferences.

In June of 2022, he began his journey as the clinic coordinator and is overjoyed to join the community of clinic artists, students, and faculty. He views the role of the clinic as a therapeutic and musical resource for individuals who are typically disadvantaged in obtaining those resources.

On campus, Andrew has been the president of the music therapy student organization, and also regularly writes and performs music locally, using his background in creative writing to inform his therapeutic practices.
